Uganda Chamber of Mines and Petroleum in drive to demystify Uganda oil and gas

By Halima Abdallah  Kisule

Uganda Chamber of Mines and Petroleum (UCMP) has today launched a campaign geared at creating awareness regarding on going activities and accruing opportunities in the Uganda’s oil and gas sector.
The campaign dubbed 90 Days of Oil and Gas shall run between July and October this year. This campaign follows renewed activities in the sector after the project Partners
announced the Final Investment Decision (FID) for the integrated upstream and midstream projects, in February 2022.
This FID unlocked the sectors economic potential. In 2020, UCMP ran a similar campaign, but with different intent-to rally the Ugandans to prepare for the development phase of the oil and gas sector whose negotiations had then registered tremendous progress amidst global lockdowns from the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the development phase now well underway, UCMP is inviting the public to actively participate in the sector and in the discussions over the 90 Days of Oil and Gas following weekly themes around the significance of the projects under development, National Content performance, Environmental, Social and Governance issues among so many others.

The public can follow and participate in the discussions through Uganda Chamber of Mines & Petroleum social media platforms and as well as the planned live interactive webinars
using the #90DaysOfOil
